Scrimmage & Training Photos - Week 6

The weather continues to threaten our training today. It's been raining intermittently but often lately. I fear it will rain this morning. Come sunrise, I am in good spirits as the skies are cleared of clouds and the sun shines brightly. I have never been so welcoming to good weather as I am now after I started this program. So training will proceed as scheduled, we are so fortunate.

I am expecting a newcomer this morning, a 7-year old, to join us today. But I had a pleasant surprise when 13 year old Alvin, turned up to join us as well. The more, the merrier, the boys more than welcome newcomers as this will mean more friends, more challenges, discovering different skills and how they will contibute to the team's performance and added chemistry.

I greeted coach Hairi and had a short brief to familiarize him with the players age, determine compatibility when pairing up and the kind of drills suitable for them. Coach Hairi has been briefed by our coach earlier though.

I have appended below some photos taken and snippets of footage during training and scrimmage. The training was well conducted and the boys affirmed this. The word 'fun' keep coming up when they feedback to me after the training session. One mentioned that he likes to crack jokes while training. I guess its his way of making the boys break the ice with him and be more comfortable around him.

What makes the training interesting was that he conducted small sided scrimmage, 2 vs 2 and in a smaller playing area, thus the teams playing are more involved. I also noticed that the boys are focused as they are engaged during the training.
